This presentation begins with a visit to the New York World’s Fair in 1965 with my baseball team and then examines several of “Michelangelo’s” works: the Pieta, the statue of David, the Sistine Chapel, the statue of Moses, and his poems. At the end we try to find the Major League Baseball Hall of Famer who most embodies Michelangelo's qualities of character. Michelangelo was born in 1475 and died in 1564, living to be nearly 90 years old at a time when the average life span was barely 30 years—one of the many interesting achievements of this truly remarkable man. No wonder he is called "Il Divino!"
