In “The Routes to Motown: American Rhythm, Blues and Soul”, Rick and Dawn explore the history and development of African-American influences on post-WWII popular music. The presentation includes some of the earliest collected songs and discusses the impact of gospel, blues, jazz, swing and other genres on our favorite pop songs of the 1950s and ‘60s. It also highlights the contributions of some of the biggest names in the history of African-American popular music.
